Photograph album containing black-and white photographs, primarily of Eddie Cicotte with members of Boston Red Sox and Chicago White Sox. Items of note include photos of Boston team posing in uniform in woods and stream settings, captioned "Little Rock, Ark., 1912," a photo of Chicago team members with bats on their shoulders in a military-style drill formation, and numerous portraits of individual Boston and Chicago players. One closeup photo of hand and ball appears to be of Cicotte demonstrating knuckleball. One photo of 1917 World Series action.

In 1919, some Chicago White Sox players intentionally lost the World Series to the Cincinnati Reds. As compensation, some of the players received cash payments from gamblers. Rumors of a conspiracy circulated immediately following Cincinnati's victory, but the scandal broke publicly in September 1920. This series of events and later developments became known as the Black Sox Scandal. The group of players banned from major league baseball because of the scandal were Eddie Cicotte, Happy Felsch, C...
